This months student profile features Aarish "Yet to be given an apelido" Sookdeo from the Norwood class. He initially started Capoeira back in the days of the Melville Class in 2002 but took a long break to focus on his studies. It's good to have hime back!

Casa da Capoeira takes to the skies with the Reach for a Dream foundation
Capoeiristas from JHB were asked to be a part of the Reach for a Dream foundation's campaign to show support for Children with life-threatening illness; mainly HIV. This initiative was driven by P-Cubed Aviation (flight school) and Petronex (pty) LTD (Fuel Company). Together, they arranged a fulfilled day with the kids from various orphanages which included a capoeira workshop- and to their surprise were lucky enough to be flown around the city in a private jet! Once again, CDC has shown its commitment to giving back to the local communities and those less fortunate in South Africa!

Cidade de Ouro celebrates four years of Capoeira in South Africa
What started off as a small community project in Florida, west of Johannesburg, has blossomed into a thriving capoeira school. Cidade de Ouro is now celebrating their 4 year anniversary and would like to invite you to join them for a roda de capoeira to be held at their class on Tuesday 3 August.
