A love for music and an uncanny ability to fall "up" stairs comes up this months featured student Sonia "Assustada" de Andrade from the Winchester Hills class. Sonia has been involved with CDC for a long time and will be a regular feature at the Winchester Hills Class in 2012 - even if she doesn't know it yet... If you see her in class then please give her a hand with her S-Dobrado as she wants to nail this move in the next couple of months!

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. 10 000 pictures and a million words couldn’t go a portion of the way towards telling you what you can learn from a Capoeira Mestre when you live with him on a farm for a weekend. A couple of guys from CDC Johannesburg recently headed down for a weekend of self discovery and good old capoeira.

A true force in the Capoeira world and a wealth of knowledge and traditional Capoeira experience is currently on our continent and will soon be coming to our country!! Mestre Cobra Mansa can trace his lineage in Capoeira back to his Mestre Moraes who was one of Mestre Pastinha's students. As you can imagine, this is going to be a brilliant series of workshops!

YES, it is that time you have been waiting for: The 2011 CDC Grading is coming in November 2011! Before the grading you will have to pull up your sleeves and show the CDC team that you have worked hard at your Capoeira skills since the last grading or since you joined capoeira... Yes, a pre-grading! Here you have a chance to stun everyone with your skills and show your true Capoeirista colors! Pre-Grading will take place on saturday 30 July at the UJ Class. As many of you already know, Contramestre Salles is putting together a trip to Xai-Xai in Mozambique from the 15th - 19th of June. The goal for this trip is to exchange Capoeira movements and experience with the different schools from Mozambique whilst getting a feel for the culture and vibe in the country, and of course, making new friends!
